The largest pumpkin ever recorded to date was grown by a family in Quebec, Canada in 2011. Weighing 1,818.5 pounds, this gigantic gourd grew 40 pounds a day at the peak of its weight gain! Many growers consider squash sowing to be a hobby and try to outsize each other with the fruits of their labor every year.
