During the years of the Great Depression, the entrepreneurial Boyer Brothers decided to supplement their family’s meager income by starting a chocolate business in their own kitchen. Branching out from mere fudge-and-nut combos, Bill and Bob also attempted to cover marshmallows with chocolate. However, though their ‘mallow recipe was delicious, it was far too creamy to hold firm under melted chocolate. All seemed lost, until their sister Emily suggested putting the whole creation into a cup, thereby forcing it to hold shape. And by the late 1940s, the Mallo Cup was born!
